Councilmember Paul Gipson

Paul Gipson was appointed to Brighton City Council in February 2022. He works as an in-house trial attorney and has aPaulGipson B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology/Biotechnology from Michigan State University. He sits as a case evaluator in multiple counties and is currently serving on the Livingston County Board of Health and Human Services.

Like so many others, Paul and his wife moved to the City in 2013 to start their family. The Gipson's and their two children have grown to love their weekend walks to the Mill Pond, attending mass at St. Patrick’s, and going to sleep each night in a safe neighborhood. Their decision has yet to disappoint.

Paul’s motivation to serve on Council is based on his desire to fulfill a sense of responsibility. He believes that we are all charged with identifying our talents, improving them, and humbly using them to serve others. It is Paul’s belief that his ability to serve is best utilized at the local level.

Please do not hesitate to contact Paul with any questions, comments, or concerns. 616-304-7554 (call or text) or gipsonp@brightoncity.org.  He is currently serving out a term set to expire in November 2027.
