Councilmember Ken Schmenk

Ken Schmenk was elected to Brighton City Council in November 2023. He is a partner in an IT company that provides managed technologyKenSchmenkKenSchmenk services to small and medium-sized businesses in the USA. Ken has earned multiple awards (Chrysler Directors Award, USAF CALS/EDI Award Winner, and Six Sigma Green Belt Certified). Ken has a BBA in Business Management from Eastern Michigan University.

Ken has lived in the City of Brighton for 10+ years and has been a Livingston County resident for 35+ years. He is on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Brighton and has previously served on the City of Brighton Planning Commission.

Ken is a father of 2 daughters. One is a MSU graduate, planning on attending medical school and the other daughter is attending GVSU working on a marketing degree.

Ken has experience working with multiple small city and county governments across the USA. He believes in keeping our small-town atmosphere while meeting the needs of our residents as well as our businesses.

Ken’s hobbies include: Cycling, Volunteering, Spending time with family and friends, and walking downtown Brighton.
