Development Overview
The Community
Development Department administers planning and development
regulations. It also provides the following:
- Administration of the City's building & building safety
programs
- Site plan administration
- Sign ordinance
- Capital Improvement Program (CIP) administration
- Assistance to customers with variance requests
The Community Development Staff also provides staff support
to the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals,
Downtown Development Authority, Principal Shopping District,
and the Arts & Culture Commission.
Community Development Department is made up of four
full-time employees, including: the DDA & Community
Development Director, the Planning & Zoning Director,
the Community Development Administrative Assistant and the
Building Clerk. Several contractual employees also provide
service to customers.
