The City Manager is responsible for daily administration of all City operations and implementation of the policies and goals established by the City Council.
The City Manager:
- Directly supervises six City Department Directors: Police Chief, Department of Public Works, Utilities, Human Resources, Finance Director, and Community Development/DDA Director.
- Coordinates the two independent consulting entities which report directly to City Council: City Attorneys and City Engineers.
City Manager Nate Geinzer is responsible for the day to day administration of the City, including the oversight of all City Departments and implementation of policies established by the City Council.
Nate Geinzer was appointed to the Brighton City Manager's position by the Brighton City Council in February 2016. He previously served as Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Farmington Hills. He and his wife, Erin, and their three children have lived in Brighton since 2004. He is a 1997 graduate of Pinckney Community High School and earned a master's degree in public administration from Eastern Michigan University in 2006.
